Comfort Food

For this 69th episode of silken on Sex I’m carrying out a special podcast to feature the work of Kitty Thomas, who recently released her eBook Comfort Food, a disturbingly erotic story in regards to the effects of social isolation and monotony on a single woman who learns to endure the unendurable (captivity) by acquiring pleasure in it.

Humans are social animals, and of the species, females are the most social, the ones most in will need of communication and companionship. So what takes place to a social animal when it is actually captured, isolated from speak to with the outside world - from any one at all - except for any big, inscrutable, and completely silent man who seems to know almost everything about her, down to her preferred comfort meals? The variety of thoughts and emotions that Emily Vargas experiences throughout her captivity are powerfully and believably rendered in Kitty Thomas’ Comfort Meals.

Intensely psychological, we comply with the rationalizations of a woman desperate for verbal communication who's reduced to objectified animalistic status by her captor’s apparent unwillingness to speak to her. He seems to become gentle and indifferent, and yet, he touches her, initially exchanging bites of meals for increasingly intimate contact, and which later results in intensely painful BDSM scenes that she consents to for worry of him withdrawing from her and leaving her a lot more isolated. Prostate massagers are male sex toys that were designed to stimulate the prostate gland.

I admit, somewhat reluctantly, that the Dominant in me enjoyed the mind-fuck aspects of this book, admired the antagonist’s ingenious approach at breaking her, which he admits was his intention all along. “Today I found one thing attractive and decided to break it. I wanted to see it shatter in my hand and crumble at my feet. Her name is Emily Vargas. She’s bright and educated and spectacular. Articulate. She’ll want someone to talk to her.” Hitachi Wand may the first choice for women or couple.

In the end, the man and the woman within this story kind a darkly twisted, erotic, and deep bond that resembles like but is more in regards to the chains of obsession and purpose which can't be denied, even in freedom.

Follow me down the rabbit hole and listen as I read Chapter 3 from Comfort Food, by Kitty Thomas.
